In theory, I think I started learning English since I had the curiosity to start listening to music on my own. At school I had English since first grade but I was never good, in fact I had very bad grades (lol). I remember that I always really liked listening to music and in fourth grade I asked my mother to buy me an mp4 where I placed endless folders with songs mainly in English, so I was curious to know and understand what the lyrics said by looking for them translated. To Spanish. I think it was where I actually began to become familiar with English, not necessarily. What is easiest for me is to listen and understand what they are telling me in English, especially under pressure. But what is most difficult for me is speaking in English, it gives me a kind of mental block and I don't know how to express everything fluently. Although I practice very little, I still look for the translations and lyrics of my favorite songs so I can learn them in English. In fact, the funniest

My ideal job

Imagen
I think my ideal job would be to play professional soccer for an important team like Barcelona F.C. (lol). Personally, I really like soccer. Since I was little, in general I really liked playing sports and, above all, the feeling that competing gives you. I know it would be good if I dedicated myself to professional football since it is difficult to find someone who plays my position on the field innately. My position is midfielder and it depends on the game and the opponent I usually play as a 5 in a more defensive or more advanced way. What I like about that position is that you can set the pace of the game and create plays. According to what I have experienced and researched, one of the qualities that a midfielder must have is knowing how to stay calm mixed with a very good technique with ball handling and trying to complete plays in the simplest way possible. Since I was little I always saw Zidane, Busquets and Pirlo among others as references that inspired me, but for some time

A Book

A book that I would like to recommend is El Tunel written by the Argentine writer, painter and physicist Ernesto Sabato. I remember reading it when I was 17 in the summer. This book was recommended to me by a friend from school who is a passionate reader and always shares with me what he is reading. I must say that at first it didn't catch my attention much, but after reading it I was fascinated. In this psychological novel, Sabato immerses us in the mind of a murderer, a mentally ill person, a man blinded by his desires and insecurities that are cooked in that Pandora's box known as the mind, who executes hurtful actions disguised as love. I think one of the aspects that I liked the most was that as the story develops you sometimes doubt what is real or if what is happening is in the protagonist's mind. I highly recommend reading it if you like more psychological novels.

My Cultural Radar (Part 2)

Fashion Lately I have been very interested in Bloke Core, it is based on incorporating sports-related garments into our more informal outfits. The essential item of clothing is a soccer jersey, so lately I have become a collector of soccer jerseys, mostly with retro designs. Music As for music, lately I've been listening to Jeff Buckley and the songs I liked the most are So Real. I like the depth and sensitivity of his lyrics and something curious is that this artist has inspired groups and singers like MUSE, Chris Cornell and Radiohead. Book A book that I am currently reading and that I loved is “ Mujeres que corren con lobos” by Clarissa Pinkola. It shows a fascinating mosaic of intercultural stories and myths that offers us a new vision of the feminine, analyzing the archetype of the wild woman. Movie Lately I have been very interested in the movie Call me by your Name . Although it is not a bad film, watching it lately has made me very interested in the era in which it take

My Cultural Radar (Part 1)

In the section that I chose, the actress Ruth Madeley talks about cultural apects such as a books, where she talks about the bravery of Britney Spears, her favorite bar in Manchester, about a Netflix documentary about John Gotti, a multimedia project with representations of things like the climate change and the acidification of the oceans on peoples bodies, about Victoria Jenkins, a designer who makes fashion accessible to everyone, a horror film The Puppet Asylum and finally talks about the television presenter Sophie Morgan, a user in a wheelchair who travels around the world and fights for the wheelchair passengers who travel by plane. For me, the section that interested me the most was the fashion section, which talks about clothing that is custom made for people who use wheelchairs, have colostomy bags, or need specific materials. I  think it is important to include people with different situations and contexts in every possible area, especially in fashion and clothing since thi

When I went to the concert of one of my favorite bands

Imagen
In 2019 I had the incredible opportunity to witness some of my favorite rock bands in life live. This band is Foals and it is a British band that until then had only come to Chile once. The concert was a sideshow of the Lollapalooza music festival that took place at the Teatro La Cúpula. It was a Tuesday at 9:30 p.m., so after finishig my class day I set out to get to the concert on time and get a good spot. I remember going alone, but when I got to the place I met friends and people I knew, so I enjoyed the concert accompanied by very nice people. The concert was incredible since within the repertorie that the band had prepared there were songs from the new album, wich I personally liked a lot and old but important songs in their career loved by all the fans. Also, in terms of sound quality, it was a very well done concert, combined with a set of lights that helped to achieve a good atmosphere. In short, it was a great day that I will never forget.

I remember went I travel in 2016 whit my family to Rodillo Beach. This small place is part of the city of Caldera located in the north of Chile. On this trip it was only my brother, my mother and his partner since my little brothers were not born yet. I remember it was a trip of approximately 10 hours in car and when I arrived the only thing I wanted at that moment was to get out of the car and never sit down again. I remember that we rented for 5 days, wich was very cozy, and its beds were very comfortable. After unpacking we went straight to see the beach, wich was, without exaggeration, about 20 meters away. At nigth it was great to go to listen to the sound of the sea and see how the moonlight iluminated evereything. The food was also very good since we prepared it ourselves and bought the seafood and fish from artisanal fishermen in the area. Overall it was a simple but very peaceful and rewarding trip.
